About the Role

As a Funding Specialist Contractor at Augmental, you will play a crucial role in expanding access to our innovative assistive technology devices, such as the MouthPad. You will specialize in navigating the alternative funding landscape, establishing connections with organizations that offer grants for individuals with hand impairment or other conditions. Our goal is for all people that need the MouthPad to be able to get it for free.

This part-time, contract position requires an estimated commitment of 10-20 hours per month, with potential for increased hours based on the project's success and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify Funding Opportunities: Research and pinpoint local and national organizations offering grants or alternative funding for assistive technology devices.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain relationships with potential funding partners, including nonprofits, government agencies, and private foundations.
  • Case Management: Coordinate with the sales team to find grants to specific cases that are in the sales pipeline.
  • Resource Creation: Develop comprehensive, user-friendly guides to assist prospective users in applying for and securing funding, ensuring they have the support needed throughout the process.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with DORs, vocational rehab, worker's comp, grants, and/or waiver programs to get assistive devices funded for users.
  • Strong network within the nonprofit, healthcare, or disability services sectors.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by individuals with mobility disabilities and a passion for assistive technology.

Compensation

$30-$40/hour
