The MouthPad^ is a custom-fit mouse that allows controlling personal electronic devices using your tongue, head, and breath gestures. It has a plug-and-play design that allows connecting via a standard Bluetooth pairing and it works in all Operating Systems, regardless of its version. It's invisible, compatible with voice control, easy to carry, easy to learn, and requires no setup.

Cursor control is enabled using tongue or head movements, according to user's preference. Tongue presses are used for left-click, or click-and-drag. Sip gestures are used for right-clicks. We are already starting to develop more sophisticated gestures, such as scrolling, swiping, and bite-based input, to expand our dimensions of control.

The MouthPad^ has been designed with comfort as a top priority. However, comfort is subjective and can depend on a variety of factors, such as the individual's mouth shape and size, as well as the specific use case. Our team members and early testers have worn the MouthPad^ for extended periods and found it to be comfortable, but this may not be the case for everyone. We encourage you to try it out and see how it feels for you!

Please note that some people may experience increased salivation during the initial adaptation period as their mouth adjusts to the oral appliance. While this may cause slight discomfort, it typically subsides within 2-3 days as your mouth returns to a more normal salivation pattern.

Yes, you can speak while wearing the MouthPad^. Its slim design minimizes the impact on speech, making it a convenient solution for users who need to communicate verbally while wearing the device. This means that you can use voice recognition software while wearing your MouthPad^.

However, please note that results can vary, and some people may need more time than others to adjust to speaking normally while using the device.

The MouthPad^ is designed and manufactured by Augmental Technologies Inc., also known as Augmental, located in San Francisco, California. Augmental is an MIT Media Lab spin-off dedicated to developing human augmentation technologies. Our goal is to provide everyone with more intuitive ways to interact with computing systems.

The MouthPad^ is equipped with the Bluetooth Low Energy Human Interface Device mouse protocol that allows it to connect to various devices, including computers, smartphones, and tablets. In general, it should be able to connect to any device that supports a Bluetooth mouse connection.

We have verified that is compatible with the following devices listed in the table below.

The MouthPad^ is designed to be light-weight and durable, and with safety in mind. Its encapsulation is made with KeySplint Soft resin, a dental-grade material that is commonly used in dental aligners, bite guards, and other oral appliances. The device is powered by a battery manufactured by Varta, a company with a long track record of producing safe, medical implant-grade batteries.

The MouthPad^ weighs approximately 7.5g and is about 80 x 50 x 30 mm in size. Its lightweight and small design makes it portable enough to be carried inside its case, in your pocket. Please note that these dimensions may vary across different mouth shapes.

The device has a general thickness of approximately 0.7 mm, except where capsules exist. This thin design allows for a discreet and seamless experience for users. The tongue-trackpad on the roof of the mouth has a thickness of about 5mm.

The battery lasts for over 5 hours of continuous use. This allows for prolonged use of the MouthPad^ without worrying about running out of battery.

It takes approximately 1.5 hours to fully charge the MouthPad^, and it can be recharged over 500 times from low to full charge before decreasing in overall performance.

It's important to note that the actual battery life and charge cycles may vary depending on usage and settings.

The MouthPad^ Early Access Package comes with a charging case and cable. The charging case weighs either 101.8g (PLA) or 113.7g (SLA Resin) and is 38 x 75 x 95 mm in size. The cable that comes with the package is a USB-C to USB-A cable.

The MouthPad^ Early Access Package comes with much more than just a single MouthPad^ device and charger.

The package offers a personalized onboarding experience, including follow-up meetings with our customer support team, in order to reduce the learning curve and help with any unforeseen challenges. This means that Augmental team members will personally walk you through every step of our initial configuration process when you receive your MouthPad^, and they will remain on standby if you ever need help moving forward.

This package also includes access to software updates, as well as a 1-year warranty.

   Please note that we're releasing our product in stages due to limited production capacity.

2. Reserve your MouthPad^

   Once we notify you that you are next in line, you will have the chance to purchase your MouthPad^.

3. Complete your Dental Impression Kit

   To ensure that your MouthPad^ is perfectly tailored to your mouth, we will send you a personal Dental Impression Kit for you to complete and send back to us. The Dental Impression Kit will include pre-paid return shipping, several dental impression putties and trays, as well as instructions to guide you through the process in the comfort of your own home. Once you ship your completed impressions back to us, we will scan them to create a 3D digital dental model of your mouth.

4. We’ll build your custom MouthPad^

   With your dental scan, we'll manufacture your custom MouthPad^, ensuring maximum comfort and reduced weight. We'll be sure to keep you updated on the progress of your order.

5. Receive your MouthPad^

   After your device is manufactured, we will notify you and arrange for it to be shipped right away.

   Your device will be delivered straight to your doorstep. Our team will work with you hand-in-hand to help you configure your MouthPad^ and guide you through an easy, one-time calibration process. After that, you can start using your MouthPad^!

The priority of the waitlist will be based on several factors, such as proximity to San Francisco, need, and others, so that we can provide excellent service to our earliest users. And due to the customized design of our MouthPad^ Early Access devices, fulfillment time will vary, meaning that we cannot provide an exact delivery estimate.

We have already started to ship our earliest MouthPad^ devices to our customers in California, and we aim to start shipping to our non-CA customers by Spring 2024.

If you've decided to cancel your pre-order, you can get a full refund.

The process of creating dental impressions typically results in highly accurate molds. However, due to the manual dexterity required, there are occasional instances where the molds are not suitable for scanning once they are returned to us. In such cases, we will provide you with a new Dental Impression Kit at no additional cost to repeat the process. If a successful outcome is not achieved, you are entitled to a full refund.

We believe we can accommodate most mouths with our custom design production process, but if we cannot make a product for you then we will issue a full refund.

If you buy the MouthPad^ Early Access Package and are not satisfied with it, you can get a full refund, provided that you return it within 30 days of delivery.
