About the Role


As our Operations Manager, you will have a unique role that combines overseeing day-to-day operations and driving strategic planning. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive and thrives in a dynamic environment – someone who can keep our operations running like a well-oiled machine while also plotting the course for our future expansion. You will be at the heart of making sure our groundbreaking MouthPads^ reach our customers efficiently, innovating new processes to support rapid scaling, managing our budget with a keen eye to ensure profitability, and working closely with the team to map out a successful future.

Responsibilities


  • Ensure our MouthPads^ reach our customers quickly and smoothly, owning the day-to-day operations, including (but not limited to) procuring device materials, inventory management, logistics coordination (i.e., dental scans/impression management, MouthPad^ shipment, customer onboarding), and customer support.
  • Develop and implement processes that enable and manage fast-paced growth. One of our key challenges is scaling the infrastructure to support the custom-fit nature of our MouthPads^, a critical step in bringing our innovative product to the mass market.
  • Monitor our overall budget, ensuring a healthy and efficient burn rate that is aligned with our path to profitability.
  • Actively collaborate with the team to set clear objectives and financial projections that guide us toward our strategic goals.

Immediate Operational Challenges


  • Enhance our capability to acquire dental impressions through both a network of 3D scanning centers and at-home impression kits, streamlining the process for scalability and customer convenience.
  • Reorganize and optimize product production and distribution to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Accelerate operational processes to increase sales, working closely with the team to identify and implement strategies for growth.

Key Qualifications


  • MBA, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in a startup or at a hardware company, preferably in the wearable device industry.
  • Proven experience in operations management, business operations, strategic planning, or a similar role.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage various tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with business-oriented software tools. This includes integrating such systems within an existing team structure, and setting up efficient software automations.
  • Experience with the FDA medical device certification process.

Compensation


California base salary range: $85,000 — $125,000 USD.
For full-time employees, your compensation package will include two major components: salary and equity. Salary for this role will be determined according to the level at which you enter the organization. Full-time employees are eligible for equity and benefits.
